Nothing gives me more joy than being able to open the windows and doors in my house so I can appreciate all that nature has to offer. We are blessed to live on a beautiful piece of land. We have a large deck off the back of the house which serves as a delightful extension of our home. During the nice weather my family spends as much time out there as possible. The birds love me because I have several feeders and water stations for them. In return, they treat us to their beautiful symphony from sunrise to sunset.
I woke up this morning after a very disturbing dream. I was part of our president’s team and I was running from danger. It was pretty apparent to me that today was going to be a ‘no TV’ day. Time to get out my music and speaker. Sadly, it took 10 minutes to find my IPod, another 10 to find the speaker and 45 minutes to locate the right cord and figure out how to get everything charged and working. I was on my own since my IT Department (Scott and Emily) were off site at work. What ever happened to turning a nob and POOF you were listening to your favorite music? If you wanted Rock you tuned into WPLJ. New Wave you tuned to WLIR. Love Songs, Soft Rock – they all had their own separate station. Depending on your mood, you were able to adjust the dial. So simple…….
During this frustrating process I discovered that we have WAY too many cords in our house. What the heck do all of these cords do and why on earth do we need so many? Do I dare throw out the ones that look the same? Are they specific to an electronic? Concerned over the apocalyptic implications of throwing out an important cord I opted to wait until those in the know return home.
It is time to Balance and Shine. I found a plastic container and I organized the cords, ear buds, accessories for the ear buds (really?), and some other things that looked like they should be in the cord container. Ahhhhh Balance.
Time to get my inner Shine on. Right now the Black Eye Peas are singing, I Got a Feeling. Now is a good point to recommend that you turn off your electronics, and turn up the volume on music that gets under your skin and makes you feel good. Go ahead – sing and dance like no one is watching! There you have it. You are ready to SHINE!
